Equipment Application
This equipment is primarily used for the highly efficient machining of flanges, disc-shaped, and ring-shaped components. It is capable of drilling through holes, drilling blind holes, and milling sealing grooves on both elemental materials and composite materials. It supports high-speed internal coolant drilling with carbide drills, or conventional external coolant drilling with standard HSS twist drills. The machining process is digitally controlled (CNC), making it highly user-friendly. It is capable of automated, high-precision, high-mix, and high-volume production.
Equipment Features
This equipment mainly consists of a bed and worktable, movable gantry, CNC vertical ram-type drilling power head, automatic chip conveyor and coolant circulation system, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, and electrical system.
1. Bed and Worktable
The bed consists of three main sections (left, middle, and right) connected by a bridge. It is a welded steel structure that has undergone artificial aging and stress-relief annealing treatment to eliminate internal stress, providing excellent static and dynamic rigidity. The worktable surface is equipped with 28 reasonably distributed support plates featuring T-slots for convenient workpiece clamping. Both the left and right sides of the bed are equipped with two ultra-high load-capacity linear rolling guideways and precision rack-and-pinion drives. To ensure smooth longitudinal movement of the gantry, the drive system utilizes AC servo motors and precision servo gearboxes for dual-side synchronous driving, guaranteeing high positioning accuracy and repeatability. Adjustable leveling bolts are distributed on the bottom of the bed for easy horizontal adjustment of the bed and worktable.
2. Movable Gantry
The gantry is a welded steel structure that has undergone heat treatment and stress-relief annealing. Two ultra-high load-capacity linear rolling guideways are installed on the front side of the gantry. Two sets of precision ball screw drives and servo motors are installed on top, enabling the Y-axis movement of the two power head slides. A drilling power box is mounted on each slide, capable of holding high-speed drills on its spindle. The gantry's movement is achieved when the servo motor drives the ball nut to rotate along the ball screw via a pulley system.
3. CNC Slide Table
The Z-axis of the CNC slide table is driven by a servo motor via an arc-tooth synchronous belt and ball screw drive, enabling the drilling power head to perform rapid approach, feed, rapid retract, and stop actions. It features automatic chip-breaking, chip-clearing, and pause functions.
4. Drilling Power Head
The high-speed drilling power head is driven by a dedicated spindle inverter motor that drives a specialized precision spindle via a toothed synchronous belt, achieving stepless variable frequency speed control. The feed system is driven by a servo motor and ball screw. The X and Y axes can be interpolated simultaneously using semi-closed-loop control, enabling linear and circular interpolation functions. Once the torque is set, the system will automatically switch to feed rate when the drill rapidly approaches the workpiece. After the drill penetrates the workpiece, it will automatically switch to rapid retract, completing the automatic feed cycle. The working feed rate is adjusted and set via the CNC system. The high-speed drilling power head spindle features a BT50 taper bore with an automatic tool clamping mechanism driven by butterfly springs. The spindle box is equipped with a pneumatic-hydraulic booster tool release cylinder for convenient tool changing. The drilling power head is mounted on the CNC slide table and moves up and down with it. It can withstand heavy cutting loads and is suitable for high-speed machining with carbide tools.
5. Flat-Plate Chain-Type Automatic Chip Conveyor and Coolant Circulation System
The machine is equipped with a flat-plate chain-type automatic chip conveyor and a chip collection cart. The coolant circulation system includes a paper band filter, equipped with both a high-pressure internal coolant pump and a low-pressure external coolant pump for internal and external tool cooling.
6. Automatic Lubrication System and Safety Guards
The machine features an automatic lubrication system that automatically lubricates moving parts such as guideways and ball screws. Dust-proof covers are equipped on both the X and Y axes, and splash-proof baffles are installed around the worktable.
7. Hydraulic System
The machine is equipped with a hydraulic system to maintain the dynamic balance of the slide table and to actuate the hydraulic tool release mechanism of the spindle.
8. Main Accessories
Machine illumination lights are provided to facilitate operator visibility.
9. Full-Digital CNC System Control
The system features a chip-breaking function, allowing users to set the chip-breaking time and cycle directly on the HMI (Human-Machine Interface). It is capable of automatically converting CAD/CAM graphics into machining programs, and automatically adjusting the feed rate and spindle speed based on different hole diameters.
The centralized control panel and handheld unit operate on the FAGOR 8055 CNC system, equipped with an RS232 interface and an LCD display. For convenient programming, data storage, display, and communication, the user interface features human-machine dialogue, error compensation, and automatic alarm functions. Workpiece hole positions can be entered via keyboard or CAD floppy disk to automatically generate machining programs, or imported via the RS232 interface for CNC machining. The equipment features hole position preview and re-check functions before drilling, making it highly user-friendly.
The machine's logic control is handled by the system's built-in PLC, which enables fault detection and alarming (with a full-Chinese alarm interface). The electrical cabinet is fully enclosed and equipped with a thermostat and protective devices.
