Overview:
The skin forming machine employs a forming method where the sheet metal passes through three rotating rolls with identical linear velocities, undergoing continuous plastic bending. The required curvature of the part is achieved by adjusting the relative positions of the rolls.
The main body of the machine adopts a frame structure, providing sufficient strength and rigidity. It primarily utilizes a three-roll configuration with adjustable center distance between the lower rolls and a tiltable upper roll. Equipped with advanced CNC technology and profile compensation technology, it performs the roll bending operations. The upper working roll, upper support rolls, and the upper crossbeam form a rigid integral unit. The lower working rolls, lower support rolls, and their fixed brackets are mounted on the equipment base. Drive units are installed on both sides of the machine, uniformly and synchronously transmitting the driving torque to the upper and lower working rolls via universal joints. The rotational speeds of the upper and lower rolls are calculated based on their respective diameters to ensure identical linear velocities, effectively preventing workpiece slippage and surface scratches. Both the upper and lower working rolls are main drive rolls. Through stepless speed variation by servo motors, the sheet metal is gradually transformed from its original curvature to the set curvature, and finally rolled into shape. This process best aligns with the forming principles of steel plates, making it a precision roll bending forming machine ideal for applications requiring significant curvature variations and high precision, especially for multi-curvature forming.
The control system of this machine consists of an intelligent PLC system along with corresponding input/output modules. It features functions for storing, recalling, and editing process and equipment parameters, as well as an operational error identification and early warning function. During operation, the operator can set the reduction amount and the lower roll opening value on the console based on parameters such as plate thickness, width, and material strength, or by retrieving existing data from the database. This enables the automatic adjustment of the working rolls, while also allowing for manual adjustment and correction. All machine actions are centrally controlled from the console and feature digital displacement displays. The operation is simple and highly convenient.
